Our groom is from Carnegie, Pennsylvania and bleeds Pittsburgh Penguins black and gold, according to his bride. James met Teresa back in 2009, and as a long time season ticket holder for the Pittsburgh Penguins, he introduced her to his favorite sport and soon she was hooked as well. When James proposed, he did it during a Penguins home game. During one of the intermissions, he snuck away to buy a hockey puck from the gift shop for Teresa. When he returned with the puck, it had the words, “Will you marry me?,” inscribed on it in gold ink.
From that day, the couple knew they wanted the Pittsburgh Penguins to be a part of their wedding day celebration. They wore black and gold as a tribute to their favorite NHL team and included several other nods to the 2016 Stanley Cup Champions during their wedding reception, which was held at the Eagles Nest in York, Pennsylvania. Their wedding was photographed by Kayce Shoffner.
“We wanted to keep it FUN, simple, yet elegant…”
